Last week ended on a positive note for the Euro following the changes in government in Italy, helping the pound to push higher in a quiet market on Friday........
The fact that Sterling has improved in value so much against the Euro has been mainly
due to the weakness of the single currency, but as the supporters of the pound have
come back in to play this took the rate to a recent high of €1.1775 at one point.
The rate has eased back to €1.1650 once more as the pound has been out of favour
this morning but the support level at €1.15 is still looking very strong. We are
still being told that that topside of the price is probably going to be limited to
just above €1.1750, but if this trend does continue we could end up higher by Christmas.
